About Tony

Tony Salmon writes songs, books, and devotionals from a life that has never been far from work, faith, and memory.

Wak Nakni is the creative home for Tony’s music and writing. It is not built around noise. It is built around truth, story, and the hope that something honest may reach the person who needs it.

Tony Salmon at a rodeo
Ranch life, rodeo life, faith, and story all run through the work behind Wak Nakni.

Tony has spent his life around cattle, fields, fire service, family, loss, and faith. He started writing young, and the words never really stopped. Some songs waited decades before they were shared. Some devotionals came from a moment on the ranch. Some pieces were written because silence finally got too heavy.

This site brings that work together. The music may sound like country. The devotionals may read like a ranchman talking across a gate. The books may carry old memories and new lessons. But the center is the same, tell the truth, give God room, and leave something that matters.

The voice changed, but the songs stayed

The voice matters, because it carries the life behind it.

For years, Tony’s voice was tied to who he was. He sang, wrote, worked cattle, served in the fire service, and carried a lot of life through that voice. After serious injuries and years of wear, the voice changed. The range, the strength, and the control are not what they once were.

But the songs did not leave. That is part of why Wak Nakni exists. It is not about trying to sound young again or polished enough for everybody. It is about letting the words stand where they are, in the voice he has now, with the life that made them.

Some songs were written decades ago. Some are new. Some come from faith. Some come from loss. Some come from the ranch, the firehouse, family, or things that were never easy to say out loud at the time. The voice changed, but the reason for singing did not.

Faith

Not perfect faith. Real faith. The kind that asks, waits, breaks, heals, and keeps walking.

Story

Songs and writings that carry what people often feel but do not always know how to say.

Work

Ranch life, long days, hard seasons, and the lessons that only show up when the job still has to get done.

Why this site exists

Wak Nakni gives the work 1 place to live. Songs, books, devotionals, and the story behind them can all be found here, without having to piece it together from different pages.
